Behind every resident is a life marked by abandonment, vulnerability and the need for lifelong support.
Support 25 Abandoned Mentally Disabled Girls & Women Live with Dignity
Samarpan Mansik Mandata Ashray Grah, a project of Priyanshi Mahila Utthan Seva Sanstha, is providing shelter, food, medicines, care, and dignity to 25 abandoned mentally disabled girls and women in Varanasi.
These girls and women depend on daily support for food, medicines, hygiene products, clothes, therapy, and personal care.
A Safe Home for Those Who Have Nowhere to Go
Many of the residents were abandoned by their families, rejected by society, or left alone when they needed care the most. Some have faced trauma, abuse, neglect, and life on the streets.
Because of their mental disability, they are often unable to express hunger, pain, fear, or illness in words. They need safety, patience, medical care, hygiene support, and above all, human love.
Samarpan Ashray Grah Is Their Home
At present, 25 girls and women are living in this shelter home. Some need regular medicines, some need diapers and hygiene care, some need therapy, and some simply need someone to make them feel safe.
Under the compassionate guidance of Mrs. Dixit, the founder, they are cared for with love, patience, and dedication. Here, they are not treated as a burden. They are treated as family.
But running this shelter home requires continuous support every month. Food, medicines, hygiene items, clothes, therapy, and daily care expenses are needed regularly.
